Itinerary Detail

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, your guide will meet you for a scenic 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, covering approximately 120 kilometers. Famous for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and seasonal river that draws wildlife from miles around, Tarangire is a photographer’s paradise.

You’ll enjoy a full day game drive, exploring the diverse terrain and tracking everything from lions and leopards to large herds of buffalo, zebra, and giraffe. The quiet, less-crowded atmosphere here offers a peaceful and authentic safari experience.

In the evening, you’ll check into your lodge inside or near the park for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park via Iyambi Gate

After breakfast, depart Tarangire and drive towards Lake Manyara National Park via Iyambi Gate. The transition in landscape is noticeable as you move from dry savannah to lush greenery and acacia woodlands. Lake Manyara is well-known for its tree-climbing lions, large flocks of flamingos, and scenic diversity that includes hot springs, groundwater forest, and open plains.

You’ll enjoy a full day of game viewing with picnic or hot lunch, depending on your preference and lodge location. By evening, you’ll drive up the escarpment to the charming town of Karatu, where you’ll check in for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

An early morning departure will take you to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After a brief stop at the gate and a scenic descent into the crater, you’ll spend the day exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site — often referred to as Africa’s Eden.

The crater floor, home to over 25,000 large mammals, offers unmatched opportunities to see the Big Five in one day. With picnic lunch served near a hippo pool, your game drive continues through grasslands, swamps, forests, and lakes.

In the late afternoon, you’ll ascend the crater walls and return to your lodge in Karatu for a restful evening and overnight stay.

Day 4: Karatu to Airport (Departure Day)
