Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha / Moshi – Lemosho Gate – Shira Plateau – Cathedral Point
Your Mount Kilimanjaro day trip adventure begins early in the morning with a drive from Arusha or Moshi to the Lemosho Gate, located on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park.
Upon arrival at the gate, you will complete the park registration process before starting your guided hike. The trail leads through beautiful mountain landscapes and gradually climbs toward the Shira Plateau, one of the most scenic areas on Kilimanjaro.
As you continue hiking, the landscape opens up, offering stunning views of the surrounding plains and the impressive peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro. After several hours of trekking, you will reach the famous Cathedral Point, the highest point of the Shira Plateau and the highlight of the trip.
At Cathedral Point, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and take time to relax, take photos, and enjoy your packed lunch while surrounded by the incredible scenery of Kilimanjaro.
After spending time at the summit viewpoint, you will begin your descent back to Lemosho Gate, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Arusha or Moshi, marking the end of your memorable Mount Kilimanjaro day hike.
